Understanding the interface

Find your circuits, place components, and navigate the canvas.

The canvas

The canvas is where you place components and connect them. Drag an empty area to pan, and use the mouse wheel or a trackpad to zoom. The header also has Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Center Canvas controls.

Components

The Components panel groups the available building blocks:

  • Input & Output: Toggle Switch, Push Button, and Output.
  • Basic Logic Gates: BUFFER, NOT, AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, and XNOR.
  • Multiplexers: MUX and DMUX.

Drag a component onto the canvas to add it. Toggle switches provide binary inputs; output components display the result.

Files

Use the menu button beside the Gately logo to show the file panel. Select a circuit to open it, or create files and folders to organize your work.

Circuit files are saved locally. Use Export Circuit to download a backup, and Import Circuit to open a JSON file.

Settings

Open Settings to change the theme, connection style, grid, snapping, and minimap. These preferences affect how you work with the canvas.
